7 Easy Tricks for Boosting Curb Appeal

Curb appeal is honestly one of your home's most valuable assets - especially if you're trying to sell! Curb appeal is your home's first chance to impress potential buyers when they come to tour your home and to draw in potential buyers from the street.

Contrary to popular belief, boosting curb appeal can actually be quite simple. Here are seven easy ways to enhance curb appeal for your homes at the Lake of the Ozarks.

1.  Fresh Flowers

With springtime just around the corner, it's time to exercise that green thumb of yours. Bright flowers and even simple greenery will greatly increase your home's visual appeal. (If you can't grow fresh flowers to save your life, fake flowers will work as well!)

2.  Luminous Lights

Installing outdoor lighting is one of the best ways to really "light up" your home's curb appeal. Lights on your front porch or little lights lining the walkway to your door will go a long way. Since you never know when a potential buyer might drive past your home, you may want to install a timer so that your lights turn on every evening.

3.  Perfect Paint

For optimum curb appeal, it's important to have a front door that stands out. Now might finally be the perfect time to give your door that new coat of paint it needs. Reds, greens, and blues typically serve as great color options for front doors.

4.  Artsy Artifacts

Setting up some outdoor art pieces can be a quick, easy way to really enhance your home's curb appeal. Wind chimes, small garden statues, and birdbaths are all great options.

5.  Lovely Lawns

A bright green lawn gives your home a warm, welcoming appearance. You want to create a space where buyers can envision themselves spending time outside, playing with their children or entertaining friends. If you've never tried to grow grass before, now is the time!

6.  Polished Porches

If you have a front porch, deck, or patio, now is the time to make it shine. Power washing wood, brick, or stone surfaces can be a great way to breathe life back into the old materials. If you have a wooden porch or deck, you may also want to consider re-staining it.

7.  Handsome Hardware

When is the last time you looked at your doorknobs, doorbell, or even the numbers on your house? If they look old and worn, consider giving your home some new pizzazz by updating these pieces. In some cases, you may be able to get away with polishing or cleaning the pieces, rather than replacing them altogether.
